Fair of the Folk Craftsmen from Romania (since 1983)

The Fair of the Folk Craftsmen from Romania takes place every year in the Open Air Museum around the date of 15^th of August, when Christians celebrate Assumption. The event is organized in collaboration with Romanian Folk Craftsmen Association and brings together about 250 craftspersons from all over the country. This Fair outlines the image of the whole typology of traditional crafts (embroidery, weaving, pottery, painting Easter eggs, carving wood and bone, painting icons on wood and glass, making fur clothes, making masks, dolls, music instruments, hats, decorations, knitting with natural vegetable fibres), most of the ethnic communities and traditional ethnographic areas from Romania being represent.
