The museum is organised in three sections and one exhibition hall. The first section is dedicated to the illuminist Gheorghe Lazăr who was born in Avrig; the second displays traditional art items and house items and the last section shows a typical peasant room from the region of Avrig.
The exhibition hall displays weaving looms and glass items made in Avrig. Here, the art of weaving is continued by the young locals and thus the museum becomes a truly living museum and an active workshop.
