This museum was set up over a century ago when it exhibited only house-related items. However, as time went by its collection grew richer; the museum started exhibiting old icons from the 17th - 18th century and other church objects from Sălişte and the neighbouring villages.
Thus, the museum brings to the forefront two essential elements of the lives of the locals from Sălişte: their customs and their faith.
